I’ve met a lot of new people today so I just wanted to say “hello” to you all!

I bet a lot of you are pretty intro’d-out given the mass emigration to Dreamwidth, so instead I’ll ask what you’re most interested in seeing from this page (you can also tell me about yourself if you want, though)! 

I am brand-new to this site so I’m still figuring out the interface and where everything is. If you see something that looks unintentional you’re probably right.

Hi, hello! *waves*

One thing I'm always interested in discussing with fellow writers is their writing process. Like, when do you write, do you plot extensively or do you just jump in at the deep end, which kinds of scenes do you enjoy writing the most, and so forth.

I am most definitely a planner when it comes to plotting. The outline for my full-length novel is 11,000 words long (<_<) I do somehow still manage to leave room for branching off and surprising myself with the plot and characters' actions, but I really like to know where I'm going before I get there. What about you?

Wow, 11k is a lot for an outline! :D I think it's great to leave yourself some room to branch off though, that'll keep things interesting and somewhat unpredictable. I'm what the NaNoWriMo community likes to call a plantser, a combination of plotter/planner and "pantser" (someone who flies by the seat of their pants and doesn't do much planning at all). I do plan some things, and I usually have a rough outline, but the details remain a mystery to me before I start writing. The end is usually just a nebulous concept in the distance that gets more defined as I work towards it. I used to be a total pantser, but I've realized that I do need a little bit of planning to keep myself on track!

Interesting! I don’t think I’ve met many plantsers, but I’m glad there’s something of a middle ground between OUTLINING and “ehhh....???”
